A major new xARIS update is currently under development and is planned for completion in September 2026.
The update represents the third major phase of xARIS improvements based on consolidated suggestions from experienced users, reported software issues, and feedback collected through ongoing xARIS user support activities.
More than 100 modifications and improvements are included in the current development scope, covering all major xARIS regulatory modules as well as common platform functionality.
Developed from User Experience
User feedback continues to play an important role in the development of xARIS.
Following the modernization of the original ARIS platform and the previous phases of system improvement, experienced users have continued to provide suggestions, change requests, and information on issues identified during day-to-day use of the system.
The upcoming update brings together consolidated user suggestions and additional issues identified through ongoing xARIS support activities.
The objective is not simply to introduce new features, but to improve how regulatory users work with xARIS in practice.
Improvements Across xARIS Regulatory Modules
The upcoming version includes modifications across all major xARIS regulatory modules:
AUTHORIZATION
Improvements to authorization-related workflows, data relationships, record management, and regulatory information handling.
INSPECTION & ENFORCEMENT
Enhancements supporting inspection and enforcement processes, follow-up activities, and the presentation and management of regulatory information.
LICENSEE
Further improvements to licensee information management and related system functionality.
OCCUDOSE
A substantial set of improvements to occupational dose data management, personnel records, dose information, and regulatory oversight functionality.
RADEVENTS
Updates to radiation event records and related data-management functionality.
RASOD
Further improvements to radiation source information management, source records, and related workflows.
The approved development scope includes 16 AUTHORIZATION modifications, 12 INSPECTION & ENFORCEMENT modifications, 3 LICENSEE modifications, 27 OCCUDOSE modifications, 4 RADEVENTS modifications, and 11 RASOD modifications.
For the public website, I would not list all 106 individual modifications here. The final Release Note can provide a more detailed summary once the version has been completed and tested.
Enhanced Reporting
Reporting is another major area of improvement in the upcoming xARIS version.
The development scope includes a dedicated set of modifications to xARIS reporting functionality, together with improvements connected to module data and common platform functions.
The planned changes are intended to make regulatory information easier to retrieve, structure, and use in generated reports.
Platform-Wide Improvements
In addition to module-specific changes, the upcoming version includes improvements to common xARIS functionality.
These developments cover areas such as:
- Activity logs
- Search
- User management
- Translation
- Notifications
- Attachments
- System customization
- General platform functionality
The approved scope specifically identifies these areas as platform and cross-cutting improvements affecting the wider xARIS environment.
These changes are intended to improve consistency and usability across modules and provide a more efficient working environment for xARIS users.
Continued Front-End and System Logic Development
The planned modifications require updates to both the xARIS user interface and underlying system logic.
Front-end development is being carried out for the modifications across xARIS modules, while related back-end logic and application interfaces are also being updated to support the new and revised functionality.
This approach is intended to ensure that the visible user improvements are fully integrated with the system’s data processing and module interactions.
Testing Before Release
The new version will undergo testing and quality-control activities as part of the development process.
The planned validation includes unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) before completion of the release.
Issues identified during testing will be reviewed as part of the preparation of the updated xARIS version.
Expected in September 2026
Development of the new xARIS update is ongoing, with completion planned for September 2026. The approved project schedule runs from November 2025 through September 2026.
A detailed Release Note will be published after completion and testing of the new version, providing users with an overview of the implemented changes and updated functionality.
